Brush cutting is a method of clearing land or reclaiming your property that we offer. This is accomplished with a tracked machine equipped with a powerful industrial brush cutting attachment. This attachment is capable of devouring some of the low-country’s thickest brush, smaller trees and saplings, various types of thickets, thorny brush, invasive species and extremely high and thick grasses. The industrial brush cutter used is a hydraulic-driven, straight shaft apparatus with four heavy duty blades that decimates anything in its path. Additionally, brush cutting allows for more material to be neutralized faster – therefore, saving the customer time and costs along with eliminating the need to pay for hauling off material or risk burning large brush piles. What normally would take one week or months to accomplish with hand tools takes only 1-4 hours with this method and service provided by Green Gorilla Lawnscapes, LLC.
How long would it take you to clear this area by hand?
How much do you value your time, hands, and back?
In this 1-minute video, Dan easily complete 3-4 hours of backbreaking work leaving behind mulched greenery that doesn’t need to be burned or carted away for a fee.
Be good to yourself; be good to the environment.
Forestry mulching is a method of clearing land or reclaiming your property where we utilize a high-powered tracked machine on a high flow hydraulic system to cut, grind, and clear (or mulch up) unwanted trees and heavier or thicker vegetation.
This method of attack against undesirable vegetation (brush, trees, downed branches, stumps, etc.) is accomplished effectively and efficiently with a high-powered Fecon rotary drum forestry mulcher (seen in the video here) armed with steel teeth or chipper tools and blades in order to shred, cut, and grind vegetation to a fine material on the ground similar to bags of garden mulch purchased at stores.
Forestry mulching turns the unwanted vegetation into mulch and mechanically and evenly spreads the mulch over the areas being cleared. This even spread of mulch helps prevent erosion while simultaneously protecting, replenishing, fertilizing and preserving the topsoil layer(s) of the ground. This method also eliminates the need for cutting trees down and dealing with stumps, piling up brush, burning and hauling off material, and disturbing the earth by digging holes to pop trees out of the ground.
Most importantly, forestry mulching reduces collateral damage to any trees you want to preserve within close proximity of where the mulching is being accomplished.
Our mowing services can vary from residential grass to larger estates and fields along with parcels waiting to be built on that we maintain. This includes grass that is several feet high and has been neglected for months possibly years especially during the growing seasons. We offer powerful commercial mowers along with traditional bush-hogging method accomplished by a tractor to manage your property and have it looking pristine.
What’s the difference between brush clearing and forestry mulching?
If you have property that needs clearing or cleaning up, you have a few choices of services. It’s important to know which does what and which serves your needs within your budget. We explain the similarities and differences between brush clearing/cutting and forestry mulching. We also show a handy chart for easy comparison at the bottom of the page.
Both brush clearing and forestry mulching have their purposes and functions for clearing and reclaiming your property. Both are good for the environment because neither uses chemicals to kill vegetation. Both also beautify your property while making it more usable for things like games, picnics, grilling, sports, hunting, and play. Both save you money because you don’t have to haul off debris while increasing the value of your property.
Brush cutting and forestry mulching differ in several ways including where each can be applied and the desired end results. The end product between brush cutting and forestry mulching differ in that forestry mulching provides the customer with a finer end product closer to garden mulch. Brush cutting leaves a thicker end product, referred to as “slash”, on the ground (that eventually decomposes into the soil). Additionally, a brush cutter cuts trees and does not grind their stumps. In contrast, our forestry mulching tool grinds stumps down to 1” below ground surface level. Ultimately, the equipment selected to accomplish the customer’s mission varies based on what the customer requests and their desired end-states.
EXAMPLE OF BRUSH CLEARING APPLICATION:
Brush cutting applications are most common when reclaiming an overgrown area on your land, fields or pastures that have been occupied with thick vegetation for months or years to include saplings upwards of 2-4 inches and thorny type brush. Our brush cutter can also cut trees with trunks up to 12 inches in diameter.
EXAMPLE OF FORESTRY MULCHING APPLICATION:
Forestry mulching applications are best served when you want to grind down and process undesirable or invasive trees and larger vegetative material to ground level. If there is a grouping of invasive trees on your land, downed branches, dead trees still standing, etc, forestry mulching would be the better choice because it can handle tree trunks of 6″ – 10″ in diameter. It also provides a cleaner “finished” look or appearance.
